My toes are cold.

I know, I live in the south, but fall will be fall. It gets cold here, too...

Who doesn't love a little[or a whole lot of] sunflare??!!

----

GARAGE SALE FIND OF THE WEEK!!!!!!!

It matches the dresser and nightstand I already have, it's just bigger!! (and comes with a mirror)

Notice the broken handle. :( I think I'll just get 2 round knobs or something to put on the top 2...
ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS?????

[My phone's jus there to give you an idea on how big it is]

My Favorite Shoes: [in no particular order]

Got these at Goodwill over a year ago.
Shoe Carnival(cheers!!).
Last October I went shopping at the outlets in AL with a friend.
Her sweet mom bought these for me so my bestie n me could be matchy, matchy.(:
"$7 shoes"
My favorite shoes of all time.
IDK, I must've gotten these over 3 years ago(they're pretty old).
FREE!!! [don't we all love that word??]
My sis picked em up at a church sale where everything single thing was free!!
Cato's sale.
These shoes are so versatile...
I can where them to church - cause they're sorta dressy,
or out to town - the heels aren't too high so it's not uncomfortable.
You probably remember my yellow chuck-wanna-be's from :THIS: post...
Wear them with striped knee socks and you got yourself a pretty funky outfit!! lol
Last {but NOT least}
I have to make myself wear something other than my desert sandals right now...
Believe me, they have got to be the most comfortable shoes EVER!!!!

----

The neighbors were burning brush.
I loved the way the sunlight looked shining through the haze of smoke.
*A-fact-you-probably-never-knew*
In GA, May 1-September 30 you are NOT allowed to burn any leaves, brush, wood, trash, you name it, with the exception of burning in a barrel or contained area...So, October rolls around and everyone starts burning their stuff. That's when it REALLY starts to smell like fall. (:

--------

One word: Adorable!!!

This boy gives the sweetest hugs ever!! (:

------

The other day, I had gotten ready to go to town for guitar lessons and was still in my room when Chandler walks in. I look at him than look at myself in the mirror and say, "Hey look! We match!". So we took a picture to remember. (:
{look at my feet - I decided to wear them for the 3rd or 4th time in weeks time}

-----

I really super badly want to take some fallish pictures....everytime I go out to town we drive past some of the most amazing fields of goldenrod. Our dogwood trees are looking gorgeous, so I'll have to atleast take some pictures of those soon...

-----

 BTW,
HOW DO YOU LIKE THE NEW LOOK???????????

About yellow.shoes. horses. a.free.concert. and .life. {among other things}

It's me!!
Got these cuties at a consignment shop in town. Too bad they're about 12 sizes too small.... :(
But..............

I found these chuck look-a-likes at a church sale on Sat.
They come from Rue21 but who cares?!? They're YELLOW!!!!!
I've wanted 'desert' sandles for quite awhile and I found these at the same sale.
Actually I paid $3 TOTAL for BOTH these AND the yellow shoes!!!!
OH HAPPY DAY!!!!! lol

The neighbors had a yard/garage sale last weekend. There was probably atleast 20 bananana boxes FULL of clothes(most about 20 years out of date.lol). But it was only $5 a garbage bag so in between me and mom we filled.it.UP!!!! (: Lots of scraps to make stuff with!
[The hat I'm wearing in the first picture comes from the bag!]

My pile of loot!

ANOTHER yard sale bargain!!!! Stinkin cheap too.(:
Ok. So this is the last bargain of the week I'll share with you: 1 more chair to add to my growing collection.
It was already painted white so all I had to do was sand it!
I'm thinking about painting it later. Maybe put a different seat on?? idk
I seem to have this thing for shoes, scarves, and chairs!!!!!
Me and Ashlyn walked a letter up to the post office and found this glass bottle on the way back. (:
Speaking of Coke.....it makes A.MAZING floats!
He loves opening the blinds in my room and looking outside.(:
So cute!! I love him!
Mom took me and Ashlyn to a FREE concert I heard about on the radio.(:
None other than Kari Jobe. This girl has an awesome voice!!!
Kari Jobe

Kari's music video "You Are For Me".

Our horses are {finally} nearby!!!!
Oh, the smell of a horse!!!!
Nicki

This isn't the worst picture I've ever taken, but it would look better if my iced coffee would stick out better from the background.

So I tried another picture.......using the backside of a fabric cutting board!!!! (:
(It WAS delicious:) And it only took me about 1 1/2 minutes to make!!

For some reason that really inspired me, so I asked mom to get me a couple pieces of poster paper at the DollarTree while she was in town. Later that evening I took pictures of these radishes using one of those!!!
We have an over-abundance of radishes from our garden!!!
I picked a bouquet of these gorgeous wild flowers by the railroad tracks..

God is so good!
He has been teaching me SO.MUCH lately!!
It's a journal-keeping time. I don't want to forget what it was like to go through some of the most faith building weeks/months of our lives.
I was reading from my devotional the other morning and these quotes really stuck out to me-

"If all things are possible with God, then all things are possible to him who believes in Him."
-
"Jesus taught that the evidence that confirms our leaps of faith comes after we risk believing,
not before."

That is where we are as a family right now. In the before. Sometimes I just want to see the evidence RIGHT NOW! (you know how impaitient we are as human beings;) But I have to keep asking God for His will, His way, His TIME. Than it will ALL be for His glory!

An exerpt from my journal:
"...I need to remind myself that God never backs out on His promises because if He did that would make Him a liar and He's totally perfect and cannot lie."
God has promised that He will never leave us or forsake us. And if we delight in Him, come before Him in prayer, and delight in Him, He will give us our desires and needs.

The things I did:

WhirlyPop in candy store at Ashley Park

Some wonderful friends from DE were in town for nearly a week in July.
One day us older ones headed out to town to do some shopping.
We ate ice cream at Coldstone Creamery, found $1 shirts at Rainbow, and took pictures at Ashley Park among other things.

Harrison eating his birthday cake!

Feeding big brother

Gotta love that face!

5 days. 5 nights.

You watch movies like Cheaper by the Dozen and Yours, Mine, and Ours, and think, Wow! What an adventure life must be with all those children! Well I'm tellin you, going from 7 to 12 kids WAS quite the experience!!!(even is it was for only 5 days)
The ages of everyone was 16, 14, 12, 11, 9, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 20 months, and 1.
All I can say is more children = more troubles, but it also = more laughs!!

The little boys watching Baby Einstein

Did I mention LOTS of dishwashers??

Sunday we packed up and headed to a lake about an hour away to for a picnic and swimming.

van load

The 3 youngest girls playing Sorry

These girls were hilarious.

3 little girls with big imaginations + a drawer full of hair stuff = VERY unique hair styles

Trying to get a picture with at least half of the little ones(and big ones!) looking....

The best we got.lol (:

Tuesday morning I was home with the 4 youngest(4 under 4).
With Harrison taking a nap and Isaac playing contentedly I had a few minutes to spare, so I got Courtney and EliseJoy dressed up did a little tea party and mini photo shoot.

Cuties!

--------------

Last summer I got this awesome pink shirt at Target and I really like it except for the fact that the sleeves are too big for my arm and I prefer having sleeves snug around.

This is what it looked like before.

and after

I just folded and sewed it.
Super quick and easy fix!

------------

Eleven picture frames all for less than $3!!
Sure, they're not all that nice and maybe a little scratched but nothing paint can't cover.
Harrison helped me wipe them off.. (:

I plan to add some to this collection on my bedroom wall.
(pardon the crooked pictures. It's a pet-peeve of mine too.)

----------

My workspace for most of the summer.

"desk" - half painted dresser.(I did finish painting it a couple weeks ago)
I've done so many random sewing projects this summer...

----------------

Lots and lots of swimming!!!

A camping trip I will NEVER forget!!

So we packed the camper and van, pull out of the driveway and the van doesn't seem to be working right. We pull off the road(barely) less than a mile from home. It's one of those super hot summer days so instead of staying inside the van that's getting hot from being parked in the sun, us children get out and sit in the ditch for a while than head over to the Methodist church and hang out on the front steps. During that time mom walks home and brings back the truck. Then mom and dad tow home the van and camper(one at a time). After that mom comes and picks us up in our other van. We go home, move everything from the big van to the truck and camper than leave(again). This time truck pulling camper and since we don't all fit in the truck, the car follows with the other half of the family in it. From the first time we left home till we pulled out again it was a little over an hour.

sitting. waiting.

The reason we went camping in the first place was to celebrate Elise's 7th birthday.
blowing out the candles

Chandler skateboarding

Breakfast made over the fire. Nothing can compare!
The evening before we left Harrison burnt his fingers on the stove.

Me and sweet baby brother

On Monday morning me and Chandler woke up before 7 so I could go out to the lakes to take pictures. He's a trooper!
Ducks in the fog
There are 2 lakes with a land bridge between. We sat in the middle, on the edge of the walking trail, on our blankets. Chandler "told stories" with his sillybands(lol), I took pictures, and we read the Bible together. It was such a special time with crazy funny memories made..

These next 7 pictures were taken with my cellphone(2mp camera) while on a walk the evening before.
Absolutely NO editing whatsoever.
double sunflare is hard enough to get with an SLR!

we the children

Harrison modeling a headband I made.

It's so funny, you walk up to him anytime and say "where's your pretty hair?" and he grins(proudly) and puts his hands on his head.(:
But believe me, he's 100% boy. No matter how much he loves "pretty hair" and wearing pretties in his hair, most of the time you'll find him playing with a truck, ball, or dirt! Oh yeah, and he loves to eat too!!

Shakes at Steak.n.Shake
checking out the menu
This summer our library had a reading program. If you read a certain amount of books or read so many hours you got a prize, which was coupons for about half a dozen different restaurants, including Steak.n.Shake. Also for the older ones there was a drawing for $100 cash and what'd know my brother won it!!!!

----------

He could LIVE outside!!!
Offer to take him outside and you'll be his bestie!

Biscotti and coffee in the morning.
This recipe for biscotti is amazing!!!
